KOWREE, NARACOORTE & TATIARA LEAGUE MEDAL

The 2007 Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League Mail Medal presentation was decided last night. In a count where the big names of recent seasons were not so prominent, a genuine local, 20 year old Naracoorte centreman/rover Matt Gill took the Virgo Mail Medal with 22 votes from runner-up Mark Edwards of Padthaway with 19 and Luke Skoblyk of Keith with 17. The longhaired Gill had plenty of opposition from within his own team as two other Naracoorte players scored double figure tallies. Mark Edwards effort was also very meritorious as his team, Padthaway only managed two wins for the season.

The Reserves Johnson Medal was taken out by Alistair Watson of Lucindale with 22 votes and the League’s Rising Star award, the Scott McFarlane Memorial Trophy was won by Jamie Bittner of Kybybolite.

MID WEST: SCOTT FELTUS WIN THIS YEARS MEDAL

Scott Feltus from Western Districts with 54 votes.  Scott plays in the centre and gained state country squad selection again this year.  A ball magnet, he is the model of what a best and fairest player should be.  Extremely hard working, Scott was still rehydrating in the change rooms after boundary umpiring the first semi final when he was announced as the mail medalist.

Presidents Medal  Simon Webb from Wirrulla with 32 votes as runner up to the mail medal.  Simon has had a wonderful year on the ball and forward for Wirrulla, strong marking and excellent kick.  He is quick and agile, and will be one of the keys for Wirrulla’s upcoming finals campaign.

JV Day Medal  The best under 21 in the competition this year is Luke Carey from the West Coast Hawks, gaining 20 medal votes from 11 games.  Luke kicked 43 goals, predominantly from Centre Half Forward, missing Mortlock due to injury.  A tall mobile forward with great hands and a wonderful left foot long kick, Luke has an excellent football career in front of him.  Played at Port Adelaide in the past two weeks, and gaining a best on ground last week, his time is now.
