BALAKLAVA TOP AFTER GIVING MALLALA FIRST LOSS

Balaklava went to the top of the APFL ladder with a convincing 45 point win over Mallala. Both unbeaten heading into Round four, Balaklava dominated the first term 6.1 to 0.1 and then added 4.1 to 1.1 in the second, to lead by 54 points at half time. The McPharlin lads had a good day, Jason kicking five goals and Todd got three. Virginia moved to second spot with a 195 point win over Hamley Bridge. Their forwards had a field day with Andrew Ross kicking seven goals and Ben Niklaus six
United had their second win of the season, beating the Hummocks Watchman Eagles by 32 points, while Two Wells are also 2/2 after four games, with a 208 point win over Angle Vale.

COMFORTABLE WINS IN ALL GAMES
Round 3 – April 30, 2016
It was a fairly one-sided round of football last Saturday, with all teams winning by comfortable margins.
Mallala stayed unbeaten beating Two Wells by 46 points, with Justin Antony the difference in the teams, kicking five goals.
Balaklava went to three from three, showing little mercy on Angle Vale, beating the newcomers to Adelaide Plains by 198 points. United grabbed their first win of the season, pounding Hamley Bridge by 117 points, having ten goal-kickers in the process.
While Virginia moved to third spot with a 23 point win over the Hummocks Watchmen Eagles.

MAGPIES TOO GOOD ON ANZAC DAY

Mallala were too good for United in their ANZAC day clash, winning by 132 points, with Brian Montgomery on fire with nine goals. Angus Bruggeman kicked as it was all over at half time, when the Magpies led by 56 points.
On Saturday, Hamley Bridge won their first game since the 2014 Grand Final, accounting for Angle Vale by 69 points. Two Wells and Virginia had a closer game, with the Rams winning at home by 16 points, Andrew Ross kicking five goals. Jason McPharlin kicked five goals at Balaklava were too good at home for the Hummocks Watchman Eagles.

Mallala knocked off the reigining Premiers Virginia, in the opening round of the APFL on Saturday. Angus Bruggeman kicked five goals as the Magpies came from 19 points down at three-quarter time to win by 21.
United nearly toppled Balaklava at Long Plains, losing 69-71, having been 36 points down at the last change. Heath Pym led the charge in the final term, but his team just fell short. There was no fairytale beginning for Angle Vale, as they were thumped by Two Wells by 174 points, with Nathan Rose kicking seven goals for the Roosters.
As expected Hummocks Watchman Eagles were too strong at home against Hamley Bridge, who at least scored three goals, despite going down by 122 points.
